Dr. Crawford is a board-certified retina specialist who has been practicing ophthalmology for over 15 years. Prior to private practice, he proudly served as a physician in the US Army for 10 years, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Crawford is passionate about health care and helping patients to have better access to health care services. He has conducted nearly 10 international surgical eye missions to those who cannot afford medical care. Dr. Crawford and his team have been successful at restoring sight to hundreds of blind patients.
After completing undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Crawford was accepted as a Fulbright Scholar for Panama. Following the Fulbright Fellowship, he completed his Medical Degree at Michigan State University. After having completed an Army Medical Scholarship, he had the opportunity to serve as Chief of the Pentagon Health Clinic in Washington DC. He was also accepted to serve as White House Aide. His internship and residency in Ophthalmology was completed at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma WA. His fellowship in Vitreo-retinal Disease and Surgery was completed at Tufts/OCB in Boston, MA. Dr. Crawford has the distinguished honor to be a board examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is active in the American Society of Retinal Specialists, and he as over 25 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Crawford is a proud husband to wife Dr. LaKiesha Crawford and father to daughters Cameron and Casey. Much of his free time is spent enjoying daily adventures with his family, traveling, playing golf and ice hockey.
Dr. Alexandria Chaulk is a board certified vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, floaters, secondary intraocular lens implantation, and other diseases of the macula and retina.
She grew up in Fort Worth, TX, attending Trinity Valley School. She pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, graduating with highest distinction with a double major in Human Biology and Religious Studies. While at the University of Virginia, she was awarded the prestigious honor of “living on the lawn.” Dr. Chaulk then attended medical school at The University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX. She finished her internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, followed by ophthalmology residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, which is home to the largest medical center in the world. She then completed vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at The University of Alabama Birmingham/Retina Consultants of Alabama, which is consistently ranked as one of the top surgical fellowships for retinal surgery.
Dr. Chaulk has a passion for medical mission work and has participated in numerous missions. Most recently she volunteered at Tenwek Hospital, performing surgeries and restoring sight to the patients of Kenya.
Dr. Chaulk published in numerous medical journals, and she authored a textbook chapter on vitreoretinal surgery techniques. She also presented three courses at the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting, teaching other ophthalmologists and optometrists about scleral buckle surgery, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal emergencies.
In her free time, Dr. Chaulk enjoys pilates and spin classes, baking, and traveling.
